The word is out: Disney has announced that the title of the newest Stat Wars film is "The Force Awakens."

  

Principal photography wrapped today and the film is expected to release December 2015.  Can hardly wait. 

In a Twitter Trend Far Far Away...

What if they made "Star Wars: The Musical"? That's the question we're asking ourselves today. The answers are appearing today on our Twitter page. So far, we have:

Act 1, Scene 3: The jawas break in to "It's a Hard Knock Life."

Act 2, Scene 24: Luke sings, "You can take my hand and my pride, but I still won't join the Dark Side."

Act 2, Scene 12: Stormtroopers dance in background while Darth Vader sings "I'm Evil with a Cape (reprise)."

Act 1, Scene 27: Obi-wan does jazz hands right before being slain by Darth Vader.

I Want One!

All you Star Wars fans with kids: for just short of $40 you can have your little one sleep in the belly of the beast, just like Luke had to on Hoth in "Empire Strikes Back"! Complete with internal intestines!

Now, if only they would make them in adult sizes (fits children and "small adults" -- I'm assuming that does mean busty 5'10'' pinup girls).

A Perfect Combination

My birthday just passed recently -- don't ask how old I am now.

Anyway, I've gotten some good gifts in my time, but this one takes the cake. My friend seems to really know me, because she gave me the perfect combination of a few of my favorites, culminating in to a Darth Goofy bobblehead!And in his underpants, too. Classic.

May the Holidays Be With You

With Christmas fast approaching, it's time to bust out the best and the worst of the holidays. Let us begin with Exhibit A: The Star Wars Holiday Special. Broadcast in November of 1978 on CBS-TV, this special had a horrible story, worse songs (one sung by the pitchy Carrie Fisher), and cheesy effects. I like schmaltz, but this is even too much for me.

George Lucas has been quoted as saying, "If I had the time and a sledgehammer, I would track down every copy of that show and smash it." It's no surprise that it has never been re-aired since 1978. Even Harrison Ford looks as if he was acting by gun blasterpoint. Anyway, here's just a snippet:

This is practically Lucas blasphemy, but I just wish it was longer.
